EQ2 experience – I have played EQ2 for about 4 years – have about a dozen toons on Splitpaw covering all the main classes – more out of curiosity but also to understand their strengths/ weaknesses: currently 4 at level 90 (brig, defiler, swash and dirge) and 6 at >= level 80 (work in progress). These toons also include all the trade skill disciplines with 5 crafters at level 90 and the remaining 4 in mid 80s. Four of the toons are maxed tinkerers and 3 are maxed transmuters (including this brig).
 
Previous guilds: over the 4 years I’ve had a mixture of guilds – started out on RE in Mystic Warlords but then moved to SP (more social). Joined a small guild called The Twenty and raided casually in pick-ups where I developed an appetite – was either with Holy Grail (when it was a raid alliance) or early morning runs. By chance was offered a position in Lore to raid T7 for about 6 months – started out with my Conj as main but realised I was better suited to a swash – I left a month before RoK to join a friend on Guk – came back to SP 6 months later and joined Holy Grail but GF issues interfered with my attendance so chose to leave. Later in the year an old friend from Lore invited me to apply to Knights of the White Shield and raided for about 16 months on my swash and brig (swap for need of guild). Left last August due to insane work pressure and 80 hour weeks. Since then I dabbled with a few toons on PvP and one or two have been social members in guilds on SP with old friends but mostly unguilded. Since the expansion I joined Dark Haven with my main toons on a social membership and raided in SF with my defiler. There is an opening for a regular raid spot with DH on the healer but not for my previous mains.
 
Why synergy:  several reasons – (i) having played a rogue for nearly 3 years I still have reservations about playing the defiler (noob healer?) – prefer to play a familiar class …. (ii) the principles of Synergy are also attractive with preference to groups and building the guild (iii) most important though is raid progression -  my current guild and Synergy are about the same – I don’t want to join a guild with less progression and be accused of giving them the strats or a guild that has killed all the mobs and is just farming the zones – still more rewarding to learn a mob, develop a strat and wipe endlessly – makes the 1^st kill all the sweeter!
