Same here.
The only character (not that I have many:) I was able to log in was a barbarian.
Have not seen any familiar people around, except for Avacii. 

Not much to come back to anyway... Haven't really logged in much lately, and the F2P move finally made me cancel my sub. No need to pay for something I don't play, just to keep the site running at least.

New expansion isn't worth buying thats for certain (unless you're an altaholic and just have to play an overpowered Beastlord), and although the new Freeport looks nice and shiny it will be all forgotten in a week when the 100 or so solo quests are completed. I don't think there is a single group/raid oriented feature in the entire update/expansion.

I still had an active sub (till 26/12) on broozer so was able to see the new freeport.
I even went into the old Synergy guildhall (sniff) and it was nice in a sad way to stroll through the familiar corridors.

Freeport looks nice. I couldnt get into the old starter zones (temple street etc.) somehow, maybe they arent active yet?
The new Beastlord might have made me play around a bit longer, but i am not buying an Update (its no xpansion)to get to do that.
Dindt see anyone online that i knew so logged out again.

Maybe i will log in again sometime this month for the heck of it. But sofar ikikik will stay shelved i am afraid

Well, SW:TOR will be released in a week.
Going to make a post as soon as they announce servers.
So we will know where to find for each other in case if would you want to take look.

Coming here always makes me a little sad, because I loved my time with synergy... Maybe we will meet again in SWTOR will be a while before i have time to play though...

After a lot of complaining on the forums they added the following to the latest hotfix:

Characters created by subscribers (on EQII Live or on EQ2X as Gold or Platinum) before 12/6/2011 no longer have class or race pack restrictions.Characters created after that date are still subject to your current membership restrictions, if applicable.

So you should be able to use your normal characters soonish... The old starter zones in FP are only accessible when on certain quests.

You wil probably be able to find me in some form in SW:TOR too. Don't see it as a long lasting game though, from what I saw in beta last weekend.

I havn't played EQ2 for a month now, well have logged in but not played.

Took sometime off since raiding everyday except saturday got boring

Also nice that SoE managed mess up the new launchpad thing, it refused to install the correct launchpad and update the game. Instead some old version non working launchpad popped up.

So went to the forums and downloaded the "correct" one, wich failed to open launchpad

Update worked on my old computer though so just copied launchpad and EQ2.exe over.

Seems quite alot of ppl had this issue.

Been playing World of Tanks Clan wars.

Done a SWTOR weekend test, also got my collectors edition box 2 days ago

And yeah unless SWTOR opens up alot at the endgame, I wonder how they wil make the game last long.
It is very linear up to lvl 15 at least.
And classes are forced to use the starting planet assigned to them or they won't get their story line class quest. So before lvl 10 you can't really play with your friends unless they pick a class that start on the same planet. Although you get past that in a few hours.

Me and Plax are in Exiles and will be playing on a  PvP server

well , i had a go at it with ikikik.
But without being able to wear anything and having overflowing inventory there was not much to accomplish. I got repeatedly beaten in scale yard by every thing i tried to attack.
I like the new freeport, i liked hearing the familiar load zone music but for me personally they should have given old veteran players 2 months free play gold member ship if they wanted me to get reimmersed in the game.
As it is now i cant see myself spending cash just to unlock what i earned ages ago. So weirdly enough SOE gave the final death stab to ikikik.

I will be playing Star Wars . But only in januari when i am back home. Not sure what race/class . will have to do some research:)

It is sad to see the current state of EQ2. But then again, it is a 7 year old game now and it has held up pretty well. I still think it is one of the best mmrpg available right now. I am grateful we had such a good run with it.

Hey guys ! I'm still in EQII, still raiding, but more because I'be got nothing else to play.

I tried DoD, felt asleep rather fast, even faster than Rifts.

Was thinking about SWOR, but no F2P, no Test, I'm not going to pay for a game I'm not even sure I'll appreciate.

 

Well, my subscription to swtor runs out soon, so I have reactivated my Rift account.
